Answers to the most common questions about Kingdom Manager.
Getting started
What is Kingdom Manager?
A website where the person in charge of a community (for example, a Call of Dragons alliance) sends surveys to its members, collects their answers from a link and sees them summarised in dashboards: playing times, power, troops, countries…
How much does it cost?
Nothing, for now. While the free beta lasts, every account has the VIP Tier 1 plan at no cost: up to 20 active surveys, 200 members, 3 collaborators and a PIN. Before it ends we'll let you know by email at least 30 days in advance, and nothing will be deleted. If you have any questions, write to us at soporte@kingdomanager.com.
What is an alliance and what is a category?
The alliance is your community: it's where you launch surveys and see your members. When you create it you choose its category, which decides which surveys you can launch and what data is asked for. For now there is one: Call of Dragons. The category can't be changed later.
How do I tell you about an idea or a bug?
From Suggestions, at the bottom of the panel menu. Choose whether it's an idea, a bug or something else and tell us: it's sent with your account and the page you were on, so we know what you mean. We read them all and they help us decide what to improve first. You can also write to us at soporte@kingdomanager.com.
Surveys and answers
How do I launch a survey?
In your alliance, go to Surveys and press Launch survey. Choose a template (Preview lets you go through it as your members will see it), remove the sections or questions you don't need, give it a title and activate it. Then copy its link and share it with your members.
Do my members need an account to answer?
No. They open the link, identify themselves with the detail the category asks for (in Call of Dragons, their in-game ID) and answer. What they write is kept in their browser until they send it. The form is shown in the language of their browser, and they can change it from the selector at the top.
What happens if a member answers twice?
Their latest answer counts, and that's the one you see in Members and on the dashboard. The earlier ones are kept so you can see how it has changed, and you can delete them.
What is an applicant?
Whoever fills in a recruitment template, like the Join request, isn't part of your alliance yet. They show up in Members, under Applicants, with their details and everything they answered, and they don't take a member slot of your plan. As soon as they answer any other survey of the alliance they become a member. Applicants have their own limit, the same size as the member limit.
What is the PIN for?
With a VIP plan you can give a survey a PIN of 4 to 8 digits. The form asks for it before showing the questions, so only people who know it can answer. Share it with your members together with the link.
A member can't send their answers. Why?
- The survey may be deactivated, or the alliance may have reached its plan's member limit (or its applicant limit, on a join request).
- To hold back programs that fill in forms, there's a cap on submissions per connection and survey. If many members answer from the same network (for example, the same wifi), wait a while.
- With a PIN, after several failed attempts you have to wait a few minutes.
What does validating an answer mean?
It's a "reviewed" mark to help you keep track. On the dashboard you can choose to see only validated answers.
Can I take the answers to Excel, Google Sheets or Discord?
Yes, from any dashboard, under Export and share: Download CSV gets the answers in a file that opens in Excel or imports into Google Sheets, and Image for Discord makes a picture of the results to paste into your server. Integrations, in the alliance's menu, also has the phone calendar and the connections on the way: the Discord bot and Google Sheets with nothing to download.
Calendar
How do I create an event in the calendar?
In Calendar, in the alliance's menu, press New event (or a day's «+»). Pick the type (behemoth, Darkling forts, war, meeting or other), the day and time, how long it lasts and whether it repeats every day, every 2 days, every week or every 2 weeks. The owner and anyone with the calendar on «manage» can create events; anyone with it on «view» sees it without changing anything.
What time are the events in?
In game time, which is UTC: that way everyone talks about the same time, whatever country they are in. The website shows your own time next to it, and in the calendar you can choose to see everything in yours. Phone calendar apps show each event straight in the phone's time.
How do I see the alliance's events on my phone?
With the subscription link. Whoever manages Integrations turns it on in the Phone calendar card; then it also shows in the Calendar, with buttons for Google Calendar, Apple Calendar and Outlook. You can share it with your players (for example, pinned in a Discord channel): new events and changes reach them on their own, although Google can take a few hours to update them.
Anyone with the link sees the alliance's events. If it ends up where it shouldn't, swap it for a new one from Integrations: the old one stops working and whoever used it has to subscribe with the new one. For a single event, its page has Add to my calendar.
Collaborators
How do I invite someone to manage my alliance?
With a plan that includes collaborators, go to Collaborators, create an invitation link and send it to them. It expires after 24 hours. Whoever opens it will have to log in or create their account to accept it. The link already carries their role, and you can change it whenever you like from Permissions.
What can each role do?
Each collaborator has a level in each area of the alliance: none (hidden), view (they can look without changing anything) or manage (they can look and change). The areas are surveys, dashboards, members and answers, calendar and events, Discord bot, integrations, alliance details and collaborators. The menu only shows them the sections they can see.
Roles fill in the levels at once:
- Event officer: runs the calendar and the Discord bot's announcements, and sees surveys, dashboards and members.
- Recruiter: launches and edits surveys, reviews applicants and validates answers.
- Analyst: sees surveys, dashboards, members and the calendar without changing anything.
- Admin: can do the same as you, except delete the alliance.
If you tweak an area, their role becomes custom. You can also share specific surveys on their own, with access to see their answers, their dashboard or edit them. Whoever manages collaborators can invite people and change access, but never give more than they have. The Discord bot isn't here yet: its level is kept for when it arrives.
Your account
How do I change my name, the language, my email, my password or the theme?
In Settings. You can also change the language with the globe selector, at the bottom of the menu or at the foot of the public pages, and it's saved in your account. To change your email we send one link to the new address and another to the current one, and the change happens when you open both. To change your password we ask for the current one.
I've forgotten my password.
Ask for a new one in Reset your password: we'll send you a link to choose it.
How do I delete my account and what happens to my alliances?
In Settings, at the end, with your password. Your account and your alliances, with their surveys, members and answers, are deleted at once, and you stop collaborating in other people's. It can't be undone.
Privacy
Who sees my members' answers?
You and the collaborators you give permission to. Nobody else, and we don't use them for anything of our own. As the owner, you are the controller of that data: the terms of use explain it.
Where is the data stored?
On servers in the European Union (Ireland). Everything else is in the privacy policy.
